Catastrophic Idaho Work Injury Results in Logger’s Death

The Idaho Statesman reported an unfortunate work accident on July 20, 2021, in the Boise National Forest that has cost a logger his life. Trevor Menter, of Council, Idaho, died in a logging accident, when a log struck him in the chest. OSHA investigated the accident and fined Menter’s employer.

David Kearns, director of OSHA’s Boise Area Office said: β€œLogging is well recognized as one of most dangerous industries out there, which is why it is so critically important that they really follow and ensure folks are following safe work practices.”

In addition to the OSHA fine, Menter’s employer will most likely be responsible to pay Idaho Workers’ Compensation death benefits.
