Injured at Work in Nampa or Canyon County? We Represent Idaho Workers Statewide.
Nampa is one of Idaho’s fastest-growing cities and home to a large workforce in agriculture, food processing, dairy, manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution — industries where serious workplace injuries happen every day. When they do, insurance companies move quickly to minimize what they pay.
Goicoechea Law represents injured workers throughout Idaho, including Nampa and Canyon County. Michael Kessinger has tried workers’ compensation cases before the Idaho Industrial Commission and argued before the Idaho Supreme Court — including a 2025 Supreme Court win against the City of Boise that established new protections for injured workers statewide.

Idaho Supreme Court Experience That Protects Nampa Workers
Coronado v. City of Boise — Idaho Supreme Court (2025)
In November 2025, the Idaho Supreme Court ruled in favor of our client in Coronado v. City of Boise, a seminal decision protecting injured workers throughout Idaho.
Sherri Coronado was a Boise police officer injured on the job. The City of Boise suspended her benefits, refused to authorize medical treatment, and eventually filed its own complaint against her before the Idaho Industrial Commission, attempting to use the hearing process to pressure and corner her on the City’s terms.
The Idaho Supreme Court ruled that only an injured worker — not an employer — may file a complaint to initiate benefit proceedings before the Idaho Industrial Commission. The City’s complaint was set aside. This ruling protects every injured worker in Idaho, including workers in Nampa and Canyon County.

Who We Represent in Nampa and Canyon County
Nampa’s workforce is one of the most physically demanding in Idaho. Agriculture, dairy, food processing, construction, warehousing, and manufacturing workers face real injury risk every shift. These are not desk jobs — a serious injury can end a career overnight.
We represent injured workers in Nampa, Caldwell, Middleton, Kuna, and throughout Canyon County in all phases of a workers’ compensation claim:
- Denied and disputed claims — When the insurance company says your injury isn’t covered or didn’t happen at work
- Agricultural and seasonal worker claims — When your employer argues you aren’t covered or your injury is not work-related
- Repetitive strain and occupational disease — When your injury developed gradually from the physical demands of your job
- Medical benefit disputes — When treatment is denied, delayed, or cut off before you have recovered
- Temporary total disability (TTD) — When you cannot work and need wage replacement benefits
- Permanent impairment and disability ratings — When your injury has lasting effects on your ability to earn a living
- IME disputes — When the insurance company’s doctor reaches a different conclusion than your treating physician
- Idaho Industrial Commission hearings — Full representation through contested proceedings
- Idaho Supreme Court appeals — When the Commission gets it wrong
What Nampa Workers Need to Know
Agricultural workers have rights too. Idaho workers’ compensation law covers most agricultural employees. If you were injured working on a farm, dairy, feedlot, or in food processing, you may be entitled to medical benefits and wage replacement. Do not assume you are not covered because of the nature of your work or your employment status.
Pre-existing conditions do not bar your claim. If a work injury aggravated or accelerated a condition you already had, the employer is still responsible under Idaho law.
There are deadlines. In Idaho, if no benefits have been paid, you generally have one year from the date of injury to initiate legal proceedings. Do not wait.
